Emmanuel God
Born in a stable, through the busyness of an innkeeper;
Working as a boy in the shop of a carpenter;
Standing as a teacher in the fields of a farmer;
Calling men to follow you on the working quayside;
Embracing the despised at the counter of a tax collector;
Dying in our place on the gibbet of an executioner;
Bursting from the grave on the guardsman's watch;
Be present by Your Spirit in today's world of work,
Help us to see the jobs that we do
As channels of opportunity
Through which Your Good News can be made known
