Those involved in security and safety
Makers and marketers of security shutters, lock combinations, Those who design and install burglar alarms and fire alarms including smoke detectors. Manufacturers of Lifebuoys, Life jackets, protective clothing, crash barriers, safety helmets and other safety equipment. Health and safety inspectors, Risk assessment advisors, Accident investigators. Those involved in pollution monitoring and production of measuring equipment. Security Guards, Night Watchmen, Door staff.
Unchanging God, Sovereign Protector we thank you for the security we find in the shadow of Your wings. You are our foundation, our refuge, our shelter and the strength we find in these realities reflects that most basic of human needs which they fulfil. And so we give you thanks for those human agents who provide a secure environment in which to live our lives through the equipment they provide; the presence they maintain; the watch that they keep. Guard and protect them we pray as they often face danger in place of others, and may they sense that in serving their fellow human beings they are serving You. Through Jesus Christ our Lord
AMEN
Regular prayer for the world of work can be a significant feature in Sunday services. ICF
seeks to provide a variety of resources to help those who prepare these. Prayer of this nature
is important because:
Each week, we highhlight different groups of workers and encourage our members and followers to particularly
pray for people who work in that sector. We also encourage local churches to include regular prayers for the world of work
As you pray, Consider what might be said in the context of thanksgiving, confession and
intercession, both for the workers concerned and for those present.
